Stormy Skies, Seeing a Sliver of Light

Whenever I’m having a pity-party of a day, I’m always reminded that someone else, somewhere else, has it way worse than me.
Sometimes that’s all it takes to have me snap out of things.
My aunt, whom I love dearly, is in the hospital with a collapsed lung. She’s in ICU and on the path to recovery … but without going into any personal details, trust me when I say that she’s had a very difficult life … I just can’t bear the thought of one more bad thing happening to her.
No one “deserves” a rough deck in life. And my aunt has been presented more than her fair share; anyone else would have cracked or thrown in the towel. Yet she handles all these situations with grace and conviction and it’s beyond admirable. I tease her she’s a saint!
I am sure she will come out of this on top, and I look forward to seeing her later this week when I go home to New Jersey. I’ll be able to visit her and my grandmother who are both in the same hospital (my aunt realized something was wrong when she was visiting my grandmother in the hospital). Not how I pictured visiting either of them, but this is life.
Anyway, I am glad today is over … and looking forward to a brighter tomorrow, hokey as it might sound. Thanks for listening and being there, dear readers!!

Thanks everyone - she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 1:30. I’ll be praying for sure.

My aunt’s surgery was bumped to 7:30 a.m. so she’s in there now … but thank you everyone for your thoughts.
