My Guest Blog for College Lifestyles
April 26, 2009
Recently, I was asked to write a guest post for the blog College Lifestyles dealing with the topic of disordered eating and going home for summer break.
College Lifestyle’s executive director, Shelly Marie Redmond, MS, RD, LDN, contacted me and I was beyond flattered — she is also the author of Eat Well and Be Fabulous, A Guide for the Modern Day Woman.
My article, “Keeping Disordered Eating at Bay on Summer Break,” offers tips for college students on how to handle going back home, but the advice is applicable to lots of situations and certainly transcends just going home for summer break.
I’d love to hear what you have to say after reading my tips. Is there anything you would add if you were writing the post?

This is great! “Perfect-girtl syndrome” is a great tip to have on there. I think we all suffer from that occasionally, whether we’re in college or not!

Thanks! I didn’t coin the phrase “perfect girl syndrome” but I know many of us can relate to it. It’s probably why I loved Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters so much when I read it this fall.
