Home is Where the Heart(h) is
That’s what they say, but my heart’s in two places, and has been for a long time.
When I lived in DC, I was driving-distance to my family in N.J. … but my then-boyfriend (now-husband) was living overseas and I’d leave a little piece of my heart at the airport every time I left him or he left me.
Now he and I are finally together (yea!!!) but now my family is super-far away and spread out … and I feel like I leave a little piece of my heart every time I leave N.J.
I know life doesn’t work that way anymore, where we can all live in the same vicinity (or even on the same coast!) as our families; we’re here in MI for many good reasons. (more…)
