FitBloggin’10!

October 24, 2009

Some of you might recall that I missed participating on BlogHer’s body image panel when I couldn’t get a ticket (WeAretheRealDeal launched following the conference), but I’m going to be part of another body image/blogging panel with MamaV and some others at Roni’s upcoming FitBloggin’10 conference in Baltimore this coming March.

In case you can’t tell, I’m totally stoked!

My best friend lives in Annapolis, and I have lots of friends in the Baltimore/D.C. area, so this will be a great opportunity to “go home” and to do something really phenomenal. Plus, I loathe public speaking, and being part of a panel will force me to get over that fear quickly.

So if you’d like to attend, here’s the info!

Alright … confession: This has been one of those weeks where I feel like all I’ve done is come across as really self-promotional and narcissistic with respect to blogging … and I feel really, really weird about it, because that’s not the kind of person I am. (I’m usually pretty modest, if I do say so myself ;) ).

But in the same week, I found out about this conference and had a WordPress.com highlight so … sorry! It’s crazy, too, because it’s only in the past three or four months or so that I’ve really felt ok about putting it all out there.  (not coincidentally, when I began blogging at WATRD).

Anyway, I’m not beating myself up over it; I know only good things can come from doing what I’m doing … and I promise to get back to my regularly scheduled blog postings next week!

And now, back to my delicious hazelnut coffee here at Panera in Ann Arbor. I’m taking advantage of my husband having class out here today :)

1.) That is AWESOME!!! I’ll have to look into it – would love to go but never can tell this early on. :)

2.) Hope you had a fantastic day in Ann Arbor.

3.) Stop apologizing when good things happen. You deserve them.

Congrats – that is so exciting! And you wouldn’t hesitate to pat someone else on the back for the exciting stuff that you’ve had happening lately – you’re not being narcissistic, you’re being justifiably happy and sharing it with your readers. That’s a good thing!

Thanks, Kristen!! That means a lot :) It just feels really self-promotional lately, but it’s all good stuff so it’s hard NOT to be excited about it!
